Obituary of Donald L. Lerner
Donald R. Lerner of Stamford, fondly known as "Big D" by family and friends, passed away on Sunday November 17th at the age of 84. Don played professional baseball for the NY Giants. A lifelong frustrated Mets fan who reveled in celebrating four NY Giant Super Bowl Championships with those who shared his passion, especially his family. An avid outdoorsman, Don happily lost golf balls all over Fairfield and Westchester counties. An inveterate schmoozer, Don was the consummate people person. Lover of music, dancing, scotch, ice cream, jelly donuts and onion rolls(not necessarily in that order). Left to cherish many great memories are his wife Joyce, aka "Red", son Scott, daughter Suzette, son-in-law Mitchell and granddaughter Jordan all of whom made him feel loved, happy and proud. In lieu of flowers, bang one off the silo at Sterling Farms. Arrangements entrusted to Nutmeg State Cremation Society, Stamford.
