Obituary of Daniel Pell Radford
With great sadness the family shares that Daniel Radford, age 55, died unexpectedly but peacefully of natural causes January 21, 2023 at his home in Norwalk. He was fondly known as “Big Dan” in the Stamford and Norwalk area where he was well regarded over the years as part of the management teams at CVS, Best Buy, Staples, Barnes and Noble, and most recently at Digital Habitat. Daniel was a Salutatorian graduate of St. Basil Prep High School in Stamford in 1985 and a Cleo Prize-winning History graduate of Fairfield University in 1989. He was active in local basketball circles where he used his 6’ 7” frame to good advantage and was a dedicated fan of UConn Huskies basketball. A well-traveled and ambitious student of the world, Dan spent his early years in the Bahamas, Canada and Singapore. He later traveled extensively including throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Russia, New Zealand, and many countries in Africa. Dan is survived by his parents Sheila and Nick Radford of Norwalk, his sister Nicole and brother-in-law Jerry of Concord, California and extended family in Canada and South Africa. A memorial has not yet been scheduled but anyone wishing to recognize Dan’s contributions to the community is encouraged to make donations in his honor to the Connecticut Humane Society or other animal welfare charity.
